Volunteers help with cooking pasta, making enrichment, assisting with office work, tabling events, and so much more.

In 2014, volunteers logged 6,989.75 hours of work – that’s equivalent to four full-time employees!

Volunteers help improve the lives of the chimpanzees in our care and their compassion and dedication are unmatched! It is our pleasure to dedicate a day each year to the people who dedicate so much to Save the Chimps!

On January 17, 2015 volunteers enjoyed observing a chimpanzee family party at Tapioca’s island and witnessed the excitement the chimps shared on this special day.  A variety of enrichment, goodies, and decorations were spread all over the island in celebration. Following the chimps party was a catered lunch with Air Force Island and its beloved residents as the backdrop.

All of us at Save the Chimps can’t thank our volunteers enough for their dedication and love for the chimpanzees.   And for those that were not able to make it to Volunteer Appreciation Day, you were with us in spirit.  Thank you for all you do!

“Volunteers, they are amazing people. “
