Meet the chimp families
Save the Chimps cares for more than 250 rescued chimpanzees. The majority of our chimpanzees live in large family groups on twelve three-acre islands. Each family group is unique, with its own hierarchy, group dynamics, and spirit. One family may be more reserved and laid-back, while another may be boisterous and energetic. Chimpanzees who are unable to live in large family groups for social or medical reasons live in our Special Needs facility, an area dedicated to providing the chimps with all they need, including six outdoor play yards complete with climbing structures, hammocks, and swings! Learn about each of our distinct family groups and the amazing individuals who live within them.
