Assistant Director of Veterinary Services

The Assistant Director of Veterinary Services works closely with the Director of Veterinary Services to ensure the chimpanzees receive the highest quality of medical care. The candidate will provide full time veterinary care for sanctuary chimpanzees – this will include surgical procedures, diagnostics, preventative medicine, and necropsies.

Care Technician I

The Care Technician 1 (CT1) position is responsible for performing moderately skilled labor –intensive tasks in the care and well-being of the chimpanzees.

Facilities & Project Manager

The Facilities & Project Manager is responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the sanctuary’s facilities which includes the infrastructure, physical grounds and kitchen operations. This position is responsible for management and supervision of all Facilities Department staff. The Facilities & Project Manager must work appropriate hours to meet the needs of sanctuary staff, volunteers, and visitors. The Sanctuary is in operation 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Weekend, evening and holiday hours may be required.

Maintenance Technician I

The Maintenance Technician I is part of the Facilities team which cross-supports duties for all sanctuary maintenance activities. The primary responsibility of this position is to assure that sanctuary facilities, equipment, structures, vehicles, etc. are maintained to function as designed for safety and efficiency.

Senior Director of Development

The Senior Director of Development will serve as the lead strategist and implementer for growing sustainable philanthropy at the Sanctuary. This role is responsible for building a culture of philanthropy and stewardship within Save the Chimps while executing daily on prospect outreach, the creation of funding proposals, and donor solicitations.

Senior Staff Accountant

The Senior Staff Accountant will report to the Chief Operating/Financial Officer, performing
routine accounting tasks to include maintaining the general ledger, recording revenue, processing accounts payable, preparing financial statements, bank reconciliations, processing month-end and year-end closings, assisting with audits and partnering with program directors and managers to ensure their expenditures are recorded accurately and aligned with their budget. This position will assist with payroll processing and reconciliation.

Welding Maintenance Technician

The Welding Maintenance Technician is part of the Facilities team which cross-supports duties for all sanctuary maintenance activities. The primary responsibility for this position is to deliver high quality welding on cages and structures to assure non-compromised safety of the chimpanzees and the caregiving staff.  When not actively involved in metalwork, this position will support other sanctuary maintenance actives as needed or directed by sanctuary leadership. This position requires flexibility to work as part of a diversified team while maintaining a professional and cooperative attitude.
