The second half of Seve’s Group was reunited with their family members and released onto their island on May 1, 2011. It was a particularly moving moment when Seve himself, who spent years in isolation, set foot onto grass for the first time, with little hesitation.

Young Apollo, born at The Coulston Foundation, boldly marched out onto the island, along with Ricky, a former circus chimp who immediately rushed out the door to freedom.

Anna, Val, and Chelsea were a little more hesitant to wander too far from the building. But all eleven chimps bravely climbed through that door to the sight of green grass and blue skies overhead!
