In addition to supporting the daily care of our over 250 chimpanzee residents, your doubled donation can help provide many of the special “enrichment items” that bring joy and stimulation to our residents each day.
What are enrichment items?
Enrichment items can be as simple as a ball or a blanket. Leo loves playing with plastic toys, for example, and Chrissy enjoys snuggling with stuffed animals. Other enrichment items are larger or more complex such as the chimpanzees’ play structures on each of the twelve islands.
Whether simple or complex, enrichment is vital to the well-being of chimpanzees. From friendship with other chimps to food puzzles, toys, hammocks, swings, and outdoor climbing structures, the chimps’ lives are enhanced by it all.
