The Great Chimpanzee Migration

Our dedicated supporters played an integral role in completing one of Save the Chimps’ most ambitious projects: The Great Chimpanzee Migration. With your support, beginning in 2004 Save the Chimps made 28 round trips between New Mexico and Florida, traveling over 100,000 miles to safely move the chimpanzees rescued from The Coulston Foundation research lab to their island homes. The final journey was made in December of 2011, and the gates of the former laboratory were closed forever. This remarkable effort would not have been possible without your generous support.
