Sally was born in captivity over 30 years ago and has been a prisoner ever since.

Sally and her family are coming home to Florida!

The largest single rescue effort on behalf of chimpanzees, EVER, is now the largest-ever relocation.

After spending decades in dungeon-like cells, the chimps are leaving their laboratory lives behind forever as they travel to Save the Chimps in Florida, the largest permanent chimpanzee sanctuary in the world.

Sally's Story

Sally was born November 7, 1971 at The Southwest Foundation, a biomedical research laboratory. Her parents were Bea and Harold. In November of 1982, Sally was sent to The Coulston Foundation. Her records are incomplete, so we don't know if she was used in any biomedical research studies.

She gave birth to four children--Darla, Lea, Holly, and Spencer--one child every December from 1984 to 1987. Despite the fact that she was a good mother, all of her children were taken away from her soon after birth.

Sally finally had the opportunity to be a mother when we introduced her to Braeden and Luke, two young boys who had been taken from their mothers at birth. Sally immediately appointed herself as their guardian, and Braeden in particular is never far from her side.

Imagine living YOUR life in a cement box.

Then imagine that finally, when it seemed all hope was gone, someone came in and gave you a new life. Imagine the joy replacing the pain. Imagine the love replacing the loneliness.

Now liberated by Save the Chimps, Sally is finally coming home to permanent sanctuary with nine of her friends, where they will wait for the rest of their family to join them and will soon be relishing in their freedom and safety on their islands in the sun at Save the Chimps in Florida.

Over the course of the next two years, Save the Chimps will be relocating nearly 200 chimpanzees from the former Coulston facility in New Mexico to their permanent islands in the sun in Florida.

YOU'VE ALREADY HELPED US LIBERATE THEM....

NOW HELP US RELOCATE THEM! HERE'S HOW:

Relocating one chimpanzee from New Mexico to permanent sanctuary in Florida costs $2,500, and includes the expense of caregiver staff on both ends of the trip, veterinary care, transport vehicle maintenance, fuel costs, and the work of bringing a new building "on-line" in Florida.

By pledging $1.25 per mile, you can help Alison, Braeden, George, Geraldine, Huey, Jeb, Linda, Luke, Sally, Stella or many others make this amazing and precedent setting journey.

$2,500 will bring the chimpanzee of your choice from New Mexico to their new island home in Florida!

$1,250 will bring the chimpanzee of your choice 1,000 miles of the trip from New Mexico to their new island home in Florida!

$500 will sponsor 400 miles of a trip for the chimpanzee of your choice!

$250 will sponsor 200 miles of a trip for the chimpanzee of your choice!

$5,000 or More. These very special donors will receive the title of "Honorary Driver." No, you can't really drive the truck, but your name will be placed on a special plaque at our Florida sanctuary once all of the chimps have reached their new homes!

We are in the process of moving Sally and 25 of her friends on a 2000 mile trek across the country to their permanent sanctuary in Florida.

You can help make this happen...
