Save The Chimps

Join fellow members and tour the beautiful 150 acre chimpanzee sanctuary, home to over 250 chimpanzees. Save the Chimps is hosting its first 2013 Member Day on September 21st and offering  guided  tours of the sanctuary grounds to our 2013 Members  - qualified members are at the $50 Enthusiast level and above.  (Special donation rates will be made available for children who are accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.) 

If you would like to attend  Member Day, please become a member today and reserve a tour slot. Reservations are required! If you have already become a 2013 member at the Enthusiast level or above ($50 or more), and you would like to attend the event, please contact our Development Office directly at 772-429-2225 to reserve a tour slot. Please note, this is a membership drive. Donations towards other campaigns are not applicable (i.e. adoption program, meal deal, etc.).

• Adults 18 and over:  $50 donation per person
• Children ages 10 -17: $20 donation per child; must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian
• Children ages 9 and under: no donation requested; must be accompanied by parent or legal guardian

Please note that there are both golf cart tours and walking tours avaialble.  Limited slots are available for members who are unable to participate in the walking tours. (See below for scheduled times.) 

The event will take place rain or shine. There will be no physical contact with the chimpanzees. All guests will be required to sign a waiver of liability which you will receive online upon registering for the event.  Signed waivers need to be returned upon arrival otherwise you will not be permitted to tour.

The sanctuary was not designded to accomodate the public, therefore parking is limited at Save the Chimps. Please arrive no sooner than 30 minutes before your scheduled tour time. Once the tour is completed, we ask that you exit the sanctuary as parking and space is limited.  Thank you for understanding. 

The distance of the tour is approximately 1.25 miles on a sandy, unpaved road, with some portions on grass and uneven ground. Each tour is expected to take 60 minutes.  

Please be sure to wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen, and carry drinking water. Hats, sunglasses, umbrellas or rain jackets, and binoculars are recommended. Please note you will have to carry what you bring.  No pets or smoking will be permitted on property.  Photographs will be permitted, so bring your camera!
