 During his sixteen years in biomedical research, Tony was a subject in eight different research studies, had 25 liver biopsies, and was anesthetized over 165 times.

Today Tony’s life is a far cry from the years of endless research studies and anesthesia.  Tony almost seems to have two different personalities—some days he is a boisterous, energetic chimp who loves nothing more than to display by banging on the cage and tossing toys in the air.  Other days Tony is one of the quietest males in the group.  Tony’s best friend is Mikey, and the two often choose to spend quiet time inside together when everyone else goes outdoors.  But Tony loves his island too, and can be seen running across the grass, or striding across the hills and platforms.  The island gives the rowdy side of Tony plenty of room to run, and the quiet side of Tony plenty of places to relax in the Florida sunshine.
