Whether it’s running or walking that you love, we hope you will join us for our third annual Chimpathon and spot Doc running on his island home!
This unique course takes you through Save the Chimps – the world’s largest chimpanzee sanctuary, located in Fort Pierce, Florida. Enjoy hearing the wonderful sounds of pant hoots and watching the chimpanzees roam as you run beside their island homes.
You don’t want to miss this amazing opportunity to visit the Sanctuary, which is not open to the public. Register by today to secure your spot. Registration is limited to 700 participants, out of consideration for our Sanctuary residents.
Over 1,000 participants joined us over the last two years, raising nearly $90,000 to benefit the more than 250 rescued chimpanzees residing at Save the Chimps. Let’s make this year even better!
Online registration for Chimpathon is now open!
It’s not just the course that makes Chimpathon special!
Every registrant will receive a Chimpathon moisture-wicking t-shirt (100% polyester), and a “98.6% CHIMP” backpack filled with an assortment of donated running supplies and giveaways. Each finisher will receive a collectible Chimpathon medal. Chimpathon athletes who finish in the top three overall spots and at the top of their age divisions will receive trophies featuring original chimpanzee artwork – priceless!

Why is our course 16K long?
One more thing that makes Chimpathon so unique is the fact that it is 16k. The reason being is that it’s symbolic of the $16,000 annual cost to care for one chimpanzee at Save the Chimps.
100% of the proceeds from Chimpathon will directly benefit the more than 250 chimpanzees residing at the Sanctuary.
