900 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches per week!!

Peanut Butter Jelly1

Our favorite childhood staple is also a favorite of the chimps! They never get tired of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but with so many chimps it seems as though we can never keep enough peanut butter or jelly on the shelves. Between lunchtime sandwiches and enrichment devices, we go through about 60 lbs of peanut butter per week, and 50 lbs of jelly.

Help stock our cupboards by sending us a jar of your favorite brand of peanut butter and a jar of your favorite flavor of jelly.  A year’s supply translates into:

  • 3,120 lbs of peanut butter or 1,248 – 40oz. jars of peanut butter
  • 2,600 lbs of jelly or 1,300 – 32oz jars of jelly

PB & J March 29th Update:

Thanks to everyone’s generosity, we’ve received
302 lbs of peanut butter and 115 lbs of jelly.

We still need your help!

We know this is a big challenge but are confident we will reach our goal!!

Every bit helps and is greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!!

Visit Walmart.com or our Amazon Wish List for quick and easy ordering and shipping. PB & J should be shipped to: Save the Chimps, 16891 Carole Noon Lane, Fort Pierce, FL 34945.

The chimps send lots of thank-you food grunts your way!

*The chimps have a healthy, varied diet which  is primarily made up of fresh fruits and vegetables.  We also provide the chimps with cooked meals (pasta, rice, oatmeal), monkey chow, and yes, PBJ sandwiches. (A local bread company generously provides bread at a generous discount.) When we do our monthly “asks”, we ask for items that can be easily shipped and are non-perishable so they can be stored for up to a year—e.g. Gatorade, peanut butter, jelly, etc. Some of our upcoming requests include oatmeal, nuts in the shell, gift cards from Home Depot, etc.
